Ramblings and an NSV

I still feel odd about my weigh in this week. I think that I'm worried about self-sabatoge. I had a wonderful loss week 1 and then gained some of it back week 2. I'm scared I'll do that again especially with Thanksgiving coming up. I don't want to go backwards. I want to keep making progress.

I'm concerned about my husband and daughter. They are both developing sneaky food habits. I had made homemade tapioca pudding last night (1.5 pt per serving). I gave the kids their bowls of pudding which dissapeared in about two seconds. Later I found the girl in the kitchen eating the leftovers right out of the pot. She jumped so high when she saw me and was so embarassed, I felt awful. Now my daughter is NOT overweight. She is tall for her age and weighs exactly what she should. But I'm worried about her developing relationship with food. I do not want her to have to struggle. She comes from a long line of big women and I don't want her to end up like me. As for my hubby, the amount of little charges that are showing up on the bank statement..McD's here, pizza there, Wendy's over there. There is at least one charge a day. This is food that he is eating in addition to what I send with him for lunch. He has put on quite a bit of weight this summer and fall and this would be why. I've tried everything I could think of with him, including taking away his bank card. That only lasted until the day he almost ran out of gas! I'm at a loss. I can't help him if he won't help himself.

I went for a walk today with my parents and ended up spending the morning with my Mom. It was great to talk to her. They were away for 3 weeks and we really missed them. They live just a few blocks away and it is great for the kids to have grandparents so close.

Good news, I had an NSV today. I had bought this gorgeous felt overcoat about 3 years ago at a going out of business sale. It was a steal (like 90% off!!!) Anyway, it was during one of my "Oh I'll get the weight off" moments and I bought it about 2 sizes too small. I almost chucked it this spring when we were packing away the winter clothes. Am I ever glad I didn't cause guess what??? It fits!!!! I'm so friggin' excited I can't even tell you.

Have a great night my fellow bloggers.

  1. I think that once you get into the healthier lifestyle that you're creating for yourself, the family will have an excellent roll model in front of them and hubby will be inspired by you :-) "the proof is in the pudding" as they say, parden the pun ;-)

You now have a fancy new coat that you get to wear this season! Although don't get too attached to it, unless you know a great tailor to take it in for next year!
